About Me

Angel Marin is a Miami based artist who works in multiple mediums, with a focus on ceramic sculptures. They received their BFA from Florida International University and their MFA from School of the Art Institute of Chicago, both in Studio Art. Angel’s work plays with the fascination of our childhood experience. Their work is whimsical and fun, yet also poignant. This lens of nostalgia is a tool that Angel has learned to hone as it creates an easy access point for the audience to discuss subjects that are uncomfortable and usually avoided. These important subjects range from LGBTQIA+ issues to mental illness to climate change to name a few, and have been embodied in many forms, including ceramic dolls, pity parties, and concrete cupcakes.
